Deleting or Work Removal

We sincerely request that creators do not delete or take down their stories from Archive of Our Own. While we have no ability or desire to have the ability to stop creators from doing so, we would like creators to consider using Archive of Our Own’s ORPHANING OPTION

Archive of Our Own offers an option for creators who no longer want to be associated with a story or their work to 'orphan' their works, permanently disassociating the work from the creator's account by removing the creator’s name from the work and from all comments the creator has left on the work.
